In Sony’s Gamescon Press Conference, the company revealed that PS3 gamers upgrading to the PS4 will get up to 75% off selected games they’ve already purchased on the PS3. The initial list of titles include Call Of Duty Ghosts, Watch_Dogs, Assassins Creed IV, and Battlefield 4, but Sony is expecting more publishers to join the program soon.
The PlayStation 4 releases on November 15th 2013 in North America, and November 29th 2013 in Europe – just days away after some of the above games hit stores. Sony and Activision has revealed that you can upgrade to the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts for an extra £10 / €10 / $10.
The discounts will be only available for a limited time, but the good news is that Season Pass content will transfer between the systems too. It’s also worth noting that the additional £10 charge will be for the digital version of the game – not the retail version. It’s currently unclear how much EA and Ubisoft will charge to upgrade their games to the PS4 version.
