A recent demo of Blacklight: Retribution on a PS4 Test Kit has revealed what the PS4 interface, called the PlayStation Dynamic Menu, looks like. During the demo, the game crashes on the dev kit, revealing the Dynamic Menu, compete with animations and sounds you can expect in the final version on the launch PS4.
The footage has been recorded directly from the PS4, but it’s unclear if the footage was captured using the native “Share” functionality or via another method. As this footage was recorded on a test kit, you can clearly see that parts of the Interface are not fully complete, like the player’s name, Dynamic menu images, avatar images etc.
The dev kit also displays the current hard drive usage in the top left corner, along with the system firmware version. The PS4 also seems to handle software crashes gracefully, allowing you to close the application instead of having to restart the entire console.
This video provides the first real look at the PS4’s Dynamic Menu, apart from the Interface advert Sony revealed in the past, which was clearly using proof-of-concept footage to show what the Interface will look like once complete.
