Sony’s upcoming PS4 is in such demand that the company has imposed pre-order limits in the UK so eager fans are not disappointed when the console launches later this year. Speaking to CVG, retail sources have confirmed that orders should be placed “before next week” in order for them to be fulfilled on launch day, meaning an effective pre-order deadline of August 5th if you want your PS4 as soon as possible.
For the moment, the pre-order limit affects the UK, but could extend to Europe. There no confirmation if limits also apply to pre-orders in North America or Asia. Retailers will also have an allocation of extra units for general sale, so even if you don’t pre-order, you still may be able to pick up a console on launch day.
