A Sony official at San Diego Comic-Con has told Polygon that the PS4 will support older PS3 headsets, even though the console will come bundled with it’s own mono headset. PS3 headsets like the official PS3 Wireless Headset and the Pulse Headset will work with the new console as an alternative. It’s expected that other third-party headsets will also work with the PS4.
Unlike PS4, previous-generation headsets will not be compatible with Xbox One controllers due to a new headset adapter port. At least gamers upgrading from the PS3 to the PS4 can make use of some of their older peripherals, but the DualShock 3 won’t be compatible with the new console.
