Sorry football fans, it appears that Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 won’t be coming to the PS4 or Xbox One this year. The strange decision by Konami means that EA will pretty much dominate the Football market on next-generation consoles with FIFA 14, which will be coming to both consoles. The decision is down to adoption of the new consoles, says Marking executive Manorito Hosoda.
“We’re not sure how quickly the uptake of the next generation will go”, says Hosoda, adding that “before moving on we want to make a good game with the new engine.”
It’s a fair point, but if pre-order numbers are anything to go by, there should be substantial install base for EA to tap into once the consoles are released. The situation may change once the PS4 and Xbox One has been around for a bit longer, so you may see PES 2015 coming to the consoles sometime next year instead.
