Sony has promised to release a fixed version of PS3 Firmware v4.45 next week, which caused PS3s to brick earlier this week. Sony has identified the issue in the firmware causing PS3s to break, and will be releasing the updated version of the firmware on June 27th, 2013.
“We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week,” said the company on Twitter.
“A new system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologise for the inconvenience,” said a second tweet.
If you are affected by the broken firmware, please read the FAQs provided by Sony and wait for the patched version next week to fix your system.
