The highly anticipated PS4 event is just hours away, and more rumours about what to expect are appearing across the Internet. A recent rumour suggests that PlayStation Plus and the PlayStation Network will be replaced by a new service called PlayStation World. Kotaku reports that PS World will be modeled after Xbox Live, where most of the PS4’s online features will require premium subscription.
The premium subscription, which will cost $89 a year will include PlayStation Plus, access to cloud gaming via PlayStation Cloud (aka Gaikai) and other online features. It would be a shame if online gameplay is one of the premium features, since the PS3 has free online gaming as standard. Of course, these are all rumours for now, but all will be revealed later this evening at the PlayStation Meeting event in New York. Watch the live stream of the event right here.
