The PS4 could launch in Europe later than Japan and North America, according to Edge Online, repeating what happened with the PS3 launch. “We’re told that PlayStation 4 will launch in Japan and the US by Christmas, with a Euro rollout following in early 2014,” says the article.
The delay is attributed to the “complexities involved in European distribution,” says the site. When the PS3 first launched, it was delayed in Europe due to component shortages, namely due to shortage of diodes used in the Blu-ray Disc drive. This is just a rumour however, and we don’t know what Sony is planning until the PlayStation Meeting later this month.
Edge also claim that Sony are aiming for 8GB in the PS4, to match rumours that the new Xbox console will also feature a large amount of RAM.
