Gamers expecting BioShock Infinite to have a multiplayer mode will be disappointed to hear that the game has no such mode. Irrational’s co-founder and Creative Director Ken Levine has confirmed via Twitter that there will be no multiplayer in Bioshock Infinite.
The tweet below says it all:
RT @tnaygc: @iglevine what do you think about Infinite’s Multi? will it damage the story?—No MP in Infinite.

This news doesn’t rule our an online component all together, just that you won’t be able to play directly with friends. The game would include other online components, including leaderboards, social networking or other functionality.
Bioshock Infinite will be released in Europe on February 26th 2013 for Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and xbox 360.
