If you prefer purchasing your games second-hand, this bit of news is for you. Sony has confirmed that the PSN Pass will be used on all future first-party games. Resistance 3 was the first title to incorporate the PSN Pass and yesterday Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception was confirmed to be the second title to use the pass.
“Online Pass will be incorporated into Uncharted 3 and future Sony Computer EntertainmentWorldwide Studios (SCE WWS) games with online functionality. We will provide further information in the future,” a SCEA representative said.
First revealed in July, the PSN Pass is a game-specific program that uses a single registration key that will grant you full online access to applicable games. Those who pick up a second-hand copy will be able to purchase a new code via the PlayStation Store. The PSN Pass allows anyone on the same console to use the multiplayer component of the game.
