In response to some erroneously printed Uplay Passport codes that affected Driver: San Francisco players in North America, Ubisoft has decided to just waive the online pass fee and make the game’s multiplayer component free to everybody.
In a statement sent to gaming news site CVG, Ubisoft said:
“Due to a printing error on the insert of some copies of Driver: San Francisco in North America, Ubisoft has elected to provide the Driver Uplay Passport content for free.
Although this problem does not affect players outside of North America, we have decided to mirror this offer to everyone in the world in order to be fair to all our players.”
The removal of the fee affects both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
