With the new of Firmware 3.50 being Jailbroken, Sony has been quick to respond by patching the security hole quickly. As a result, firmware 3.55 has been released to patch the vulnerability, preventing jailbreak from having effect. It’s clear that Sony doesn’t want piracy to get out of hand like it did on the PSP and is trying to keep up with hackers.
If you have Automatic downloading enabled (PlayStation Plus subscribers only), the patch will be downloaded automatically so all you will need to do is boot up your PS3 and install it. Those with jailbroken PS3s will likely want to stay on their current firmware version.
