The PSPgo was released just over a year ago and Sony hasn’t been doing to well selling the UMD-less PSPgo, so this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Sony Japan has announced a substantial price cut for the portable console today affecting both North America and Japan.
In Japan, Sony has been selling the PSP Go for $335 so far and is now ready to push down the price to $211, effective as early as tomorrow – that’s a 37% reduction, saving you $124. In the States, the handheld will officially cost $199 by the end of this month, according to Reuters, saving consumers $50 (original price was $249). Sony didn’t say anything about possible price cuts in Europe and other markets.
