The BBC has confirmed that the newest iteration of its TV on-demand service, the iPlayer, will be released on Sony’s PlayStation 3 soon. Simon Cross of the BBC told TechRadar that it will be looking to introduce the iPlayer 3 on Sony’s console once it overcomes technical issues with the sign-in process.
Mr Cross said: “We don’t know whether to integrate it with the PSN signing in process or do something new.” The BBC iPlayer has now been available on the PlayStation 3 for some time now, and is also part of the XMB on the UK. The ITV is also hoping to bring its own catch-up service to PlayStation 3.
