A number of high-profile games have been released in Q1 of 2010, from the 256-player MAG to the first Final Fantasy title for the PlayStation 3. In the last few weeks along, Final Fantasy XIII, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and God of War III all sold a large number of copies in their opening weeks. But which game is leading so far?
In fifth place, the massive 256-player title online only title, MAG, has sold over 720,000 copies since it was released in January 2010. Not too far ahead, in fourth place is Battlefield: Bad Company 2, selling just over a million copies on the PS3. Just ahead of Battlefield is third place is PlayStation exclusive Heavy Rain, also selling just over a million copies.
God of War III, only having been available for a few weeks take second place, selling 1.43 million copies. Way out in front is Final Fantasy XIII, taking the top spot so far this year. Final Fantasy XIII has more than double the sales of God of War III, selling over 3.42 million copies so far – making it the fastest selling game of 2010.
