According to rumors over the past few days, it seems like the day of the week on which the PlayStation Store is updated in Europe is changing. Since the PlayStation Store was first introduced in 2006 in Firmware version 1.10, store updates have always been on a Thursday (except during holiday periods). From May 5th, the day will be changing to Wednesdays instead.
The earlier publishing date will give gamers more time to download new titles or add-on content in time to enjoy the over the week. It’s unclear why SCEE is actually changing the publish date, furthermore, the news has not been confirmed by Sony yet. Video Store updates will continue to publish on Mondays.
