The custom soundtrack feature on the PS3 hasn’t received much support since it was added in Firmware 2.40, but it has been confirmed that ModNation Racers will support the feature. According to Chuck Lacson, the Associate Product Marketing Manager of SCEA, ModNation Racers will have custom soundtracks support, “If you play music on your XMB, that’s the music that will replace the in game soundtrack.”
The game, which is coming out in May 2010, will also “support VOIP, so if you and your friends have headsets you will be able to talk to each other while in game rooms, races and even in the Mod Spot.” The game also supports two-player online split-screen and four-player offline racing, but unlike LittleBigPlanet, players will not be able to sign-in using their own PSN ID on friend’s consoles.
