Just in from the Game Developers Conference 2010 in San Francisco, Sony has revealed the official name for the Motion Controller, and guess what, it’s not called the Arc! Instead, the device has been named as PlayStation Move.
The first game demonstration showed two wireless motion controllers being handled at the same time to play a third person combat game. One controller acted as a shield, while the other controller acted as a weapon.
This was followed by a demo of a table tennis game being played by a single motion controller. The movement of the controller showed to be registering very accurately on-screen.
Next up, a level of Little Big Planet was being played via the motion controller. The on-screen character was being helped through the stage by moving platforms from left to right, and raising a platform to allow the character to reach a level above amongst other things.
Finally a name, I did prefer the arc as a name but oh well, I just want the damed thing!
