Jens Uwe Intat, senior VP at EA Europe recently had an interview with MCV where he outlined his belief that Sony’s Motion Controller and Microsoft’s Natal will outperform Nintendo’s Wii in reaching out to those still classed as non-gamers, whilst offering new, interesting experiences to current gamers.
“They [the controllers from Sony and Microsoft] will allow new game experiences for existing players. But they will also allow what Nintendo has achieved to some extent, and that is to get new people into gaming – people for whom a traditional controller is not the most natural way to play, for people who are much more comfortable using something more intuitive. I think they will expand the audience even further than Wii and the Wii Remote Controller.”
Could this be the start of a demise for the Nintendo Wii? Or is Sony and Microsoft too late for this market? Only time will tell…
