The PlayStation 3 firmware has already been updated this week, and now the PSP is getting its own update. Firmware 6.20 will be released later today, according to the Japanese PlayStation Website. The new update adds support for the PlayStation Video Store in Europe, which also launches today, and the PSP Comic Service.
The update also adds a new “Extra” icon to the XMB, which will affect all PSP models from the PSP-1000 to the PSPgo. Downloadable comics will be available in Japan on December 10th. Price would be falling around ¥420 (approx $4.70) for a complete comic book, and between ¥50-¥150 (about $0.50 – $1.70) for chapters.
Other changes:
- You can now transfer video and photo playlists from your PC to your PSP via Media Go 1.3.
- You can also now import photo and video playlists that you created on your PS3 to your PSP. Simply copy the playlists from the PS3 XMB.
- The Digital Comics reader is now available to download for PSP – but please wait for the comic store launch in – December 2009, debuting in UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
