Naughty Dog has revealed it’s downloadable content plans for upcoming title Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. According to Naughty Dog, downloadable content will include additional multiplayer goodies such as maps and game modes. Multiplayer designer Justin Richmond revealed that competitive content will be added to the game, but no co-op DLC will be available “for the foreseeable future.”
Richmond expanded on the co-op functionality, stating that development is very time intensive and the physical download size is also huge. “The co-op stuff is hugely time-intensive and the size of it – the physical download size – is huge, so that’s probably not an option,” he said to Eurogamer.
“I’m not going to say never,” continued Richmond, “but for the foreseeable future we’re not going to be doing that.” Despite this, he revealed he is “fascinated” by co-op, and let slip that there is plenty of things he would “love to do next game.”
Uncharted 2 hits shelves next week in North American and Europe.
