The lucky folks over in Japan received a nice surprise on the PlayStation Store today: Final Fantasy VIII, the PSOne classic. Squall, Rinoa, and the rest of Final Fantasy VIII the crew have junctioned themselves into a new domain – you can now play them on the go on your PSP and on the PS3. There is now word on a US or European release yet, but we can expect more details in the next week or two.
Final Fantasy VIII is available to purchase for ¥1500, which would be about $16. Square Enix managed to squeeze the game into a 1,815MB file so it won’t be such a space-eater in your PS3 or PSP. There’s currently no word on release for other territories. As with Final Fantasy VII, it could take several weeks for the game to show up on the PlayStation Store.
wow i never thought that would happen ! might buy it again
I can’t rememebr if this is one of the ones I played?
Turns out I still got it!
I still have it too, but I would prefer playing it on the PSP now. Graphics aren’t good enough anymore to hold up on a HDTV.
