Rumors about the PlayStation 3 Slim are still circulating dispite Sony debunking the initial claim. The PS3 Slim photos were first released back in May and later in June the BBC revealed that the PS3 Slim is expected to launch later this year. Now, a PS3 Slim was spotted at a street market retailer in the Philippines. Of course, this doesn’t prove anything as fake consoles are sold all the time and made to look like the real thing. Check out the video below and judge for yourself.
The video is very poor quality and doesn’t actually show the PS3 Slim properly. Also, the “PS3” branding has been in use for some time now but the typeface is still unconfirmed. Sony has yet to confirm the existance of the model and the specifications.
We speculate that the slim model will have 80GB to 160GB hard drive, two USB ports (as the video suggests), HDMI support as standard but no RGB connection. In addition, the power adapter will be much larger (similar to the PS3 and Xbox 360). As for price point, the PS3 Slim will definitely be cheaper than the current model.
I never thought of the day when I would witness the fall of SONY’s once grand video game empire…
