A new 160GB PS3 model has been announced at the Leipzig Games Convention. The US 160GB model will come bundled with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, while the European version will come with vouchers. The new model will launch in November retailing for $499.99/€499.99. The new model will launch in Europe on October 31st 2008, and the US in November. The soon-to-be-launched 80GB PS3 model will continue to retail at $399.99.
The 160GB PS3 model will be exactly the same as the 80GB model in terms of specification, except for double the hard disk space. The system will come with a DualShock 3 controller, and the hard drive will be packed full of demos, videos and other content.
This bundle is certainly going to be tough to get this holiday season.
If you’re still looking to get a PS3, take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on where all you need to do is design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt and you could win a PS3 or Xbox 360 (your choice). There are less than 180 entrants too. For contest details, go here: [linked removed]

If you have nine or ten games (more other little things…) with eighty gigabytes is sufficient… Usually the people don’t need 160 GB or more… Sony need innovate or evolve in other things but not extended the hard drive.
I disagree, I recently purchased the 160gb model and currently only have 70gb left. Mind you in a period of 3 weeks!! I can see how if utilized exclusively for gaming how 80 GB might be sufficient, but when 16gb are dedicate for the OS well you get the picture. If exploited for all it’s potential the story is quite different. A few HD movies here, an extensive music library, and a few hundred pictures it becomes evident that a 320-500 GB upgrade might be in my future.
Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.
