The XTREME PSP Magazine has been around for over two years now, and it looks like it may come to an end very soon. The number of readers have declined over the past few months and the PSP is loosing ground to the PlayStation 3 and other consoles. As a result, you may or may not see another issue of the XTREME PSP Magazine. However, your thoughts on the matter may convince us to continue publication.
The new issue of the XTREME PSP Magazine is scheduled to be released towards the end of this month, but we are lacking enough PSP-related content to provide a decent issue. Any help or donations you could provide will help us in more ways than one. We are looking to hire writers to cover the homebrew scene as this is still going strong.
The number of new PSP releases have steadily dropped, and we don’t have a lot of content to cover. The PS3 is still new so there is a lot of content for us to cover, but the magazine was primarily for the PSP. PSP M4M: Magazine 4 Men is likely to continue, but we may also discontinue that in the future.
One option we have is it to discontinue the PSP magazine and instead work on a PS3-only magazine. This will most likely be viewable on the PS3/PC only since we will use a larger layout for the magazine. Please use the comment section below to tell us what you think. Alternatively, you can contact us here.
I Know, i’ve sort of not read the psp magazine these days now…
I guess people just knows the ins and outs of the psp that the magazine really doesn’t tell us anything new.
But yeah, theres no doubt the psp magazine has been an success.
Why not mix the 2 together if there’s not enough content do the first 4 men PSP gamer mag girls & games!!! I’d buy that for a dollar!
keep it and combine the two but a ps3 magazine would be kickin and dont lose the pspm4m mag it rocks
I think that you should continue making the magazine. Maybe if you make it in psp and ps3 format, more people will read it.
Or.. you could at LEAST wait till update 4.00 in march to quit on me. you have no idea the enjoymentismness i recieve dumpin the lastest issue of xtremepsp in my pictures folder.
I like the gaming magazine, but I wold like to see more M4M. If I had to choose one, M4M of coarse, but I like reading tthe gaming mag also, because im not always in the mood to read a mens mag.
Also, another magazine idea…………….. This would be awesome, at least to me.
A book in PSP format.
I would love to read a book in PSP format, maybe you could start that up.
i don’t like the new combined format i just delete the ps3 stuff since i don’t have the console. i read pspmag for the game reviews and other stuff like mail and homebrew, cheats, etc.
maybe combine the psp stuff from the pspmag and combine it with the M4M. that way, instead of our psp stuff in 2 mags, its in one mag.
maybe another case of “some good things never last”
i hope the magazine will extend till the end of 2008. such a shame a good mag will end like this. also the for PSP M4M to end, will that sucks too.
I like the PSP mag. It has some good and bads. But I don’t really care to see the cheat section. I do like the idea of more PS3 in the mag. Hell, throw in the other platforms and it would be great! The content really doesn’t matter to me anyways, I only read it when I’m on the can.
Please keep the magazines. It’s one of the main reasons I bookmark and visit your site.
I think it’s a big PLUS point for people to use your site.
I would miss this mag if it went, but seeing as I’ve had too much turmoil in my life to be able to consistently provide reviews.
I know that the declining readership has been in part due to the lack of advertising. PSPupdates hasn’t been featuring the releases and they are one of the best PSP news websites I’ve come across and they aren’t the only one’s who haven’t covered the releases
I would post a lot more on this, but the very irksome 200 character limit is enough to not bother.
That, and hitting enter so I can make clean posts ends up getting removed and renders long posts unreadable.
Heres a suggestion. Don’t just cover psp related material, but cover other news in electronics. Have a mix of different stuff in one magazine. Like the newest in tech and so on.
It would be a pity to lose such a good magazine.
I like it very much and find it comfortable on the subway 🙂
I hope to see more from XTREME PSP Magazine.
Regards.
Sakya
Hi guys,
Plz plz dont discontinue the PSP Xtreme mag.. Its a great mag & i ( & many of my frnds ) eagerly wait for the latest issue of the mag to be released so that we can read it..It is one the best publications & plz do continue it..
I’ve done what I can to get some of the homebrew community to pitch in. Still contacting people and begging favors, but I think I have a few who are at least interested in if I can give them better ideas on how to do an overview of their programs.
also, the rss feed isnt working. i dont check the site. i use rss feeds. all of the sudden, i noticed, hey, why didnt this light up this month? and i checked, and its broked. fix it. lOvE yA!
Your magazine is really cool and I would be willing to take it over or at least sponsor it (my parents try to buy my love). I will pay for hosting or whatever. I could also buy it from you. My e-mail is union.uiuc@yahoo.com
Actually, e-mail me at lkarmaz2@google.com. My yahoo account got shut down because t had 3 GB of spam. 🙂
please dont stop the mag i read it every month and if u are wait atleast until u review 4.00 And god of war chains OF OLYMPUS (best psp game EVER) then mabe after those reviews u will get more readers!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aww… too bad, my favorite issue was the no. 12 i think, its about tennis.
If you decide to discontinue the XTREME PSP Magazine because of loss in readership, then go ahead but don’t discontinue the mag until you review God of War; Chains of Olympus and Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and then you could go out in a BANG!
Also, good luck to you, Niraj Shah and Xtreme PSP staff on your future endeavors. I’ll start reading the Xtreme PS3 from now on.
🙁 What a bad new 🙁 I enjoy the magazine a LOT. Lamento escuchar que no volvera. Anyway congratulations for in my humble opinion the best PSP magazine. Greetings from Puerto Rico
Well, if you stop then I will certainly miss it since I’m a loyal reader to PSP Mag. I do wish you to continue the publication, it’s ok to publish it once every quarter or so… Another suggestion, you may also cover more ‘general’ gaming related matters (but not the ‘daily news’ kind of thing).
I don’t have a mag like yours here in the states. Sure the articles, don’t match up with the release dates here, but I am a faithful reader. I use the magasine to determine if I sound go and pick up the game I saw on the shelf.
I also use your magazine as a showcase for what the PSP is able to do.
Please continue with the mag. Maybe do articles on the interactivity between the PSP and PS3. Or how about the media functions with blueray.
