Sony will be releasing Firmware 3.11 in the second week of February (week commencing February 5th 2007) because of problems with playing the PlayStation One Title, R-Types. Sony reports that the problems that occur in Firmware 3.10 do not occur in Firmware 3.03, but unlucky for those who updated to 3.10. Sony therefore apologizes to anyone who experienced this problem. The exact details about the problem regarding R-Types is unknown but details can be found on the Japanese PlayStation Website.
Firmware 3.11 may also include a security patch to fix the recent “goofy” exploit in Firmware 3.03, although this is not confirmed. We will keep you updated about any developments. In the mean time, you can check out the Japanese article using the link below.

wow if this is true then DARK ALEX I WISH YOU WELL TO JOURNEY INTO THE NIGHT OF HOMEBREW!
I SALUTE J00!
I dont get it. Is there somethin new in this firmware or not?
3.11 will most likely be a minor update to improve security and fix the PSX Emulator.
This is cool news but I want my PSP: M4M.
In other words Sony screwed up and they are admitting it along with letting us know when the fix comes out, if I owned a PS3 and this crap happened to me I would be so pissed.
hey sony CHECK THE FUCKin FIRMWaR3 b4 releasin it u dumbass dicks
I hope sony doesnt improve the security so we can get 3.11 OE. also, as past updates have shown this update will have no extra features, take 2.01 or 2.51/2.52, for example!
As for past firmwares we have seen small things implemented but never anything major.
I expect the next large update will come around the time of the PS3 launch in Europe, whenever that is!
Sony is planning to prelease an update in March when the PS3 hits Europe, but I think it will be for the PS3 only.
^^^ Nope, there will be one for PSP too.
